Installation Instructions for F5 BIG-IP version 11.x

Following the steps below will assist you in installing an SSL certificate on a F5 BIG-IP VERSION 11.X server. If you have not yet generated your certificate and finished the validation process, refer to our CSR Generation Instructions before proceeding with the instructions below.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR F5 BIG-IP VERSION 11.X

Step 1: Installing an SSL Certificate on F5 BIG-IP Version 11.x
  1. Log in to the F5 BIG-IP web interface using your admin credentials.
  2. Click on the "Local Traffic" tab and then select "SSL Certificates" from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the SSL Certificates page, click on the "Create" button to create a new SSL certificate.
  4. Fill in the required fields, including the Common Name (CN) and the Certificate Authority (CA) information.
  5. Click on the "Import" button to import your SSL certificate.
  6. Browse for the SSL certificate file on your local computer, and then click "Open" to import the file.
  7. Click on the "OK" button to complete the SSL certificate installation.
Step 2: Downloading and Importing Digicert Intermediate CA Certificate on F5 BIG-IP Version 11.x
  1. Log in to the F5 BIG-IP web interface using your admin credentials.
  2. Click on the "Local Traffic" tab and then select "SSL Certificates" from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the SSL Certificates page, click on the "Import" button to import a new CA certificate.
  4. Browse for the Digicert Intermediate CA certificate file on your local computer, and then click "Open" to import the file.
  5. Click on the "OK" button to complete the CA certificate import.
Step 3: Updating the SSL Profile for F5 BIG-IP Version 11.x
  1. Log in to the F5 BIG-IP web interface using your admin credentials.
  2. Click on the "Local Traffic" tab and then select "SSL Profiles" from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the SSL Profiles page, click on the "Edit" button to update the existing SSL profile.
  4. In the "Server SSL" section, select the SSL certificate that you just installed.
  5. In the "Client SSL" section, select the Digicert Intermediate CA certificate that you just imported.
  6. Click on the "Update" button to save the changes.
  7. Apply the updated SSL profile to your virtual server by navigating to "Local Traffic" > "Virtual Servers" and editing the virtual server. In the "SSL Profile" section, select the updated SSL profile.
  8. Click on the "Update" button to save the changes.
